Maserati was founded in Bologna, Italy in 1914.
Alfieri Maserati joined forces with his brothers Ettore and Ernesto to open a car engineering workshop called “Officine Alfieri Maserati” at number 1A on via de’ Pepoli. In 1926 Maserati was transformed from a workshop that modified or developed cars built by other companies into a company designing, constructing and selling its own.
